The Prime Minister wants to give an equal opportunity to the Women in India along with an environment without discrimination. This is a big decision by the central government to bring about half the country’s population Under Mahila Shakti Kendra Yojana.
The Government of India had ratified a new scheme Mahila Shakti Kendra Yojana (MSKY) in November 2017, to be implemented from 2017-18 to 2019-20. The scheme aims to empower rural women through community participation.
Community participation will be added to 115 college students at the block level in the aspiring districts. These students will give information to rural women about government schemes.
District level Mahila Shakti Kendra Yojana will be linked to this program. The allocation of funds in the scheme has been in proportion to 60:40 between the center and the state government. The ratio for the Northeastern and special category states is 90:10.
Funds issued under the Mahila Shakti Kendra Yojana In till 15 July 2018 is Rs. 5216.86(in lakh).
Benefits from this Scheme
It aims to improve the target of decreasing Linganupats, ensuring the safety of the newborn baby. It will provide the interface for the rural women to contact the government to obtain their rights.
