VIRTUAL ID TO PROTECT AADHAR CARD
UIDAI has decided to issue a 16-digit virtual ID for authentication to protect AADHAR card from misuse, the AADHAR cardholder must use this virtual ID instead of the AADHAR number.
UIDAI claims that the basis of authenticity will be more secure than ever before when the identity of the virtual ID will prove your’s identity and the need to share the AADHAR number will be over, virtual ID will be generated from the computer at the time of need.
Apart from this, access to KYC information will be limited, After the KYC limitation, the agencies will no longer be able to store the Aadhaar number.
WHY GOVERNMENT USING AADHAR CARD
At present, about 119 crores people have an AADHAR identification number. In order to issue the AADHAR, the Unique Identification Authority (UIDAI) was constituted in 2010, the purpose of the foundation was to eliminate double identities.
HOW TO GENERATE AADHAR VIRTUAL ID
Now if you go to the service provider company, then you will not give your AADHAR number instead you will have to give a single VID i.e. virtual ID.
To generate virtual ID, you have to go to the official virtual ID mobile app, UIDAI website or AADHAR centre, after this, UIDAI will ask you for the Aadhaar number and in return, you will give a virtual ID number, it will be number 16 digit.
You can generate this virtual ID countless times and the old virtual ID will get useless once the new ID generated.
Virtual id concept will be accepted from 1 March 2018, UIDAI will issue necessary software for this by March 1, 2018. All agencies associated with identity certification will have to adopt new systems until March 28.
HOW COMPANIES WILL USE VIRTUAL ID
Verify your identity without an AADHAR AADnumber, Actually, when you give your virtual ID to the company, the system will be connected to UIDAI, and UIDAI will give a token number to the company. This token will be different from the AADHAR NUMBER and lovely thing is that the company will be able to use it only one time this token, the company will be able to verify your name and photo for verification.
HOW VIRTUAL ID CONCEPT IS BETTER THAN OTP SYSTEM
So far, an OTP was sent to the mobile number for logging the AADHAR information, which was valid for a limited time though many times people used to get information by deception. many complaints also came out that a large number of scolding was gathered and sent for commercial use. after coming, virtual id recurrence of these type of fraud can be avoided.
